It’s a question I suspect many of us secretly wrestle with when we’re thinking of putting ourselves or our brands out there. But equally there’s a solution that I want to share. That fact is people buy people, so like it or not, if you want to connect with your audience you need to make the shift from feeling like you’ve got little to offer, to knowing that what you’ve got to share will be heard. Many people get caught up in the concept of ‘confidence’ or lack of. Finding confidence is a fallacy. Confidence does not make you interesting – in fact it often has the opposite effect. If you wait until you have confidence, it’s unlikely to happen. Ironically by the time you find confidence you’ll no longer need it. Nor is it about being polished or highly articulate either. On their own they’re boring as well. So what is it about… why would people listen? It’s all about your story. These short videos help further the conversation – one for brands and one for leaders: For brands: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/tim-wood-53501224_story-brands-marketing-activity-6813249746501812224-Ro81 For leaders: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/tim-wood-53501224_screw-the-elevator-pitch-and-take-the-stairs-activity-6824509882880921600-Dgng It’s your story that makes what you’ve got to say compelling. It’s about threading a narrative through what you do. It’s your emotional journey that enables others to connect with what you’re saying. Knowing your story gives you the courage to put yourself out there.
